Y.M.C.A. FOR WANGANUI.
THE PEOJECT LAUNCHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The Opera House was crowded to the doors to-night on the occasion of a mass meeting held to publicly initiate the movement for the establishment of a Y.M.C.A. Adresses were delivered by Dr. Henry, Mr Holmes (secretary of the Wellington Y.M.C.A.), and Mr. W. H. George, of Wellington. The proceedings were most enthusiastic throughout, and at the conclusion it was unanimously resolved to approve and support thei scheme outlined by the local provisional;)' executive.
The proposal is to conduct a campaign! for £IO,OOO, to provide an up-to-date' building and equipment, the campaign to be organised under the direction. <tt an expert, and a cardinal feature of the policy to be the opening of the building absolutely free of debt, and witti the general secretary's salary guaranteed, for three years.
