STRATFORD A. AND P. SHOW

ENTRIES CLOSE TO-MORROW. Entries for the Stratford Show continue to come in freely. Up to Saturday last large entries were received in the dog section. For the convenience of exhibitors, entries in dog and poultry classes will be 'received up to closing date *for receiving general entries, November 30. The first consignment of stock for the show, comprising forty stud sheep, have arrived in Stratford, and are being accommodated on Mr. Dingle's property until show days. In horses, including thoroughbreds, light and weight-carrying hacks, ladies' hacks, draughts, carriage horses, hunters and ponies, all classes give splendid promise of being well filled. Ponies will be prominent at the show, the contingent from Stratford being a large batch in themselves. There will be several competitions for these midget horses, the riders being both boys and girls. From the number of 'horses entering in the hunters' competitions, maiden hunters, hunters (open) and hunters' steeplechase, the public should enjoy a fine exhibition of jumping. In the pedigree cattle sections remarkably good entries are being received in Jerseys, Holsteins, Ayrshires and Shorthorns. In these and other cattle classes some magnificent animais will be exhibited. Pedigree dairy stock and other dairy cattle will be a strong feature of the show, this object being aimed at by the executive when compiling the schedule. To dairy farmers the show should be of «reat interest and educational value. While making the show of as great value as possible to the dairy farmer and the breeder of stock generally, the Association is seeing to it that a very enjoyable outing will also be provided for the younger members of families. To this end, provision will he made, as far as possible, to make the outing on both show days much in the nature of a picnic. A number of very interesting side-shows have booked space on the grounds for both days.
