ANNUAL MEETING. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting held in the Baptist Church on Wednesday. The first, part of the programme was given to social intercourse, when congratulations were given to Mrs. Bui lot on the occasion of her golden wedding. She was presented with a bouquet of gold and white flowers, tastefully made by Miss Foote, of Mr. Buttimore's establishment. Business commenced with an abridged report of the year's work by the president to the effect that the collecting c&rafa distributed through Mrs. Brash returned £8 to the funds for work amongst the Maoris; over £4l had been handed to the Temperance Hall committee. A Provincial Council was successfully carried out at Stratford. The names of twenta new members had been added to the rol. during the year. The names of fort* two children had been Registered on ti§t cradle roll. Eighty young ladies ha*!' signified their willingness to assist a# the New Zealand Convention to be helcß in New Plymouth next March. Fortyone meetings in connection with tihej | Union had been held through the year* All of the Union's departments of had wonderfully developed during last twelve months. The report wad adopted, with words of congratulation! and encouragement from members. Til balance-sheet was read and adopted.* K The following officers were elected Jk| the coming year:—'President, Mra.'?AuH Douglas; corresponding secretary, Mijf Ambury; treasurer, Mass Taunt.
