THE DUKE OF CONNAUGHT'S TOUR. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Pretoria, November 27. The Duke and Duchess of Connaught had a splendid reception, followed by a busy day. The principal ceremony was the laying of foundation stones of the Government buildings on a site overlooking the city. The Duke of Connaught described the site as a magnificent one. THE LANGUAGE QUESTION. Capetown, November 27. At Mr. Botha's instance, Dr. Jameson supporting him, the Union Assembly unanimously appointed a select committee to examine into the educational system in the four provinces, with a view to ensuring equality of opportunity for the English and Dutch languages, in accordance with article 137 of the constitution, and not by compulsion.
