INGLEWOOD NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The following are tlie nominations for the local Rowing Club's single and pairs championship:—Singles: Messrs. O'Carroll, Percival, J. Drake, Mynott, Surrey, Rolston, Cottier, F. Spurdle, Sutherland, Leslie, Maekay, Ballantyne, Wilson, Taylor, W. Marshall, Allan, Pine, Hamerton, Coldwell, Morton and Gudgeon. Pairs: O'Carroll and Cottier, Drake and Wilson, Bennett and Mynott, Gudgeon and Hamerton, Percival and Qui'gley, Spurdle and Leslie, Allan and Sutherland, Maekay and Ballantyne, Rolston and Surrey, Taylor and Coldwell, W. Marshall and Johnston.

A good number of those interested journeyed to the Egmont Show on Thursday. The cricket match also drew a fair attendance, although the local team's failure to come up to expectations detracted considerably from the afternoon's enjoyment. The locals' fielding was very scratchy, and batsmen were missed on several occasions.

A feature of the match was Matthew's wicket-keeping, hardly a ball beatin* him. °

The Presbyterian Church will hold a monster picnic on Boxing Day. The Catholic social, held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evening, was well up to expectations, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. There was a large attendance, and the affair was an unqualified success.
