BOWLING.
Till-: XUItTUKHX ASSOCIATTOX. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Xight. The Council of the Xorthern Bowling Association met to-night. The Xew Zealand Bowling Association notified that it had been decided that any player, a member of a club affiliated to the Xorthern Bowling Association, could take part in the forthcoming tournament at Christehureh, provided his bowls were tested and stamped by his Association. Applications for affiliation were received from the Hataitai, Woodville, Hamilton and Foxton Clubs. Affiliation was granted. Information was asked by Mr. J. A. Craig, of Auckland, as to whether a team of Xew South Wales bowlers could play in the annual tournament to be held at Auckland, if the team happened to be in Auckland when the tournament) was being held. It was decided to waive rule 5 on account of the team coming from outside the Dominion, and to grant the visitors permission to compete. It was reported that the Union Steam Ship and HuddartParker companies had decided to grant a rebate of 20 per cent, on the fares of players going to compete at the tournament at Auckland, and also that a concession would be made by the Railway Department to players and their wives travelling to the tournament, which commences on January •) next. Mr. J. J. Roberts was appointed to act as secretary in Wellington pro tem, during the absence of Mr. G. H. Dixon in Auct land.
