A PERJURER SENTENCED
STRONG COMMENT BY THE JUDGB. ; By Telegrapn.—iTess Asooeiation. Auckland, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day Harry Fyfe, an ex-man-o'-warsman, convicted of perjury, came up for sentence. Mrj Justice Cooper said that the perjury iiw this ease was of a black and cruel character. The prisoner had abused the hospitality of Mrs. Kehoe by giving false information to her-husband with the* object of blackening her character and, obtaining money from herself and her husband. There could be no extenuating circumstances in such a case. The prisoner was sentenced to five years' im« ." prisonment.
