EXPORT REGULATIONS,

Melbourne, November 24, The revised commerce regulations fix the standards of exported butter as superfine, first, second and third grades, and pastry. It must contain no fat other than butter-fat, not more than 15 per cent, of water, 3 per cent, of casein, 0.5 per cent, of boric acid, and 4 per cent of salt. Strict regulations are prescribed for labelling and describing meat and other articles of food and drink, medicines, and manufactured articles intended for export. The following fees are payable before export is permitted:— Butter, %d per box; mutton and lamb, %d; cattle, 3d; pigs, Id per carcase; canned meat, y 2 d per lOOlbs.
