CONTROL OF CYCLING.
To the Editor. „ ®' r ' re gard to the enquiry from Interested,' regarding the government of cycling, I think if "Interested" knows anything about the matter, he will know that for years, more especially in the North Island, cyclists have practically had no governing body. How many centres has the Xew Zealand League of Wheelmen? Moreover, nearly every cycle race is run by clubs affiliated with the New Zealand Athletic UnnSfi, and whv should the societies be taxed by an extra tee to a body which is practically deninct. The idea is to concentrate athletics under one governing bodv, and so save expense to clubs and societies. I have yet to learn that Canterbury has seeded from the Union. A few minor i: übs in Nortii Canterbury, dominated bv the remnants of the once prosperous League of Wheelmen, have decided to run unregistered meetings. This, with the \Y anganui Society, practically conTf runn!n S under the • J ,? ' . Interested" requires anv further information I would be pleased to give it.-I am, etc., 1 . J. CLARKE, Chairman Taranaki Centre X.Z.A.U.
