The question of the affiliation 01 Canada to the American Federation of Labor caused a dispute at the St. Louis Convention. .Canadian delegates sought to carry a resolution declaring that the Canadian Federation is coordinate and simultaneously independent of the American Federation. The rival proposal woald admit Canada to the status of a State Federation. The question was referred to a committee. FOLLOWED BY REVOLVER PRACTICE Received 20, 5.5 p.m. New York, November 19. Following the dispute at the St. Louis Labor Convention, John Carlson shot with a revolver John Howard, manager of the Electric Company, of Chicago. Carlson was arrested.
