The Duke of Connaught and his party arrived- at Salisbury and drove to Government House, opening en route a new road, which was christened the Kingsway, and afterwards were publicly welcomed in the Drill Hall. THE TOUR THROUGH RHODESIA. Received IS, 11.20 p.m. Capetown, November 18.
The Duke and Duchess of Connaught have arrived at Salisbury. Replying to an address, the Duke said he recognised the great hardships and severe depression which the settlers had undergone, and to which the address referred but lightly. But this was the spirit in which the Rhodesians always met their difficulties. He was glad of the rapid progress in agriculture and mining, whereon the future of Rhodesia depended. The Duke was everywhere welcomed most cordially.
