SUPREME COURT
WELLINGTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day Alexander Taylor was arraigned on a charge that in August last, during the voyage of the Turakina from London to Wellington, he stole a quantity of curtains, sunshades, and ladies' umbrellas, valued at £-25 19s 3d, the property of the >iew Zealand Shipping Company, or, in the alternative, that he received the property knowing it to have been stolen. The accused admitted the second charge, and the first was withdrawn. Sentence was deferred till Saturday. Robert Russell denied a charge that on September 20 last he broke and entered the dwelling of Albert Clemas. The jury found a verdict of guilty, but expressed the opinion that if the prisoner had not been intoxicated the incident would not have happened. Russell was admitted to probation for six months and was ordered to pay £2O towards the cost of the prosecution.
Wellington, Last Night. • William Levery, an elderly man, was found guilty at the Supreme Court today of carnally knowing and indecently assaulting a girl aged fourteen years and two months. He was remanded till Saturday for sentence.
