CHEAPER CABLES

HALF RATES ON DEFERRED MESSAGES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, November lli. Representatives of all the cable companies doing business with England, at a meeting convened by Sir M. Nathan, secretary of the General Post Office, decided practically unanimously in favor of half rates on deferred messages. A subcommittee was formed to arrange details. The general feeling was that the experiment should for the present be confined to Great Britain and its possessions, and only be applicable to extra-European territories. Messrs Primrose and Coghlan represented the Pacific Cable Board.
