THE TARANAKI COMPANY. There was a very large number of visitors to the Taranaki Petroleum Company's works yesterday afternoon. Drilling is proceeding satisfactorily at No. 5 bore, whilst at No. 2 oil is still flowing strongly. Proof of the interest evinced, by some of yesterday's visitors was shown by the request for a direction as to where to. obtain application forms for the new issue of preference shares. The enquirers were accommodated on the spot. The Taranaki Petroleum Company yesterday commenced its treatment of the surface of the new Gill street with petroleum, and should complete the work to-day. Shares changed hands yesterday and. on Wednesday at 10s 6d.
