The National Rifle Association has determined to divide its service rifle programme into two parts, one for experts and one for non-experts. TAIUNAKI RIFLES. The Taranaki Rifles will fire handicap matches to-day and on Saturday at 800. 000 and 1000 yards, for trophy presented by Mr. Newton King, and ammunition prizes presented by Mr. Govett. The following are tile handicaps: Lieuts. Willis and' Marett, Sergt. Dai vies, Privates Blaiiehett and Marett, ser.; Cofpl. Southam, 2 pts.; C'orpls. Crutch and Reid, 3 pts.; Priv. Armitage, 4 pts.; Captain Fletcher, Privates W. Okey and Arden. 6 points; Priv. Richards, Prestney and Arnold, 7 pts.; Corpl. Buxton, 10 pts.; Privates Leighton and Pepperell. 12 points; remainder of company, 15 pts. RIFLES v. GUARDS. A return match. Rifles v. Guards, at the 800, 000 and 1000 yards ranges, will be fired at Rewa. Rewa range this afternoon. The Rides won last week by 13 points, so the Guards are looking for their revenge. The Guards are also firing for a trophy at the same time, and so arc making a triangular match of it. Following are the Guards' two teams: — No. 1 Team: Color-Sergeant TTartnell. Sergeants Oliver and Lobb, Corporal Bruce, Privates Short, Nicholls, Riddles and Goodacre. No. 2 team: lieutenant Beadle, Sergeants Evans and Arnold, Privates Blanchard, Hill, Sadler, Johneon and Sole.
