STRATFORD DAY BY DAY
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. The Druids Lodge is considering the question of establishing a brass band, and has applied to the Borough Council for the terms on which they would be permitted to use the instruments and music in the Council's possession. ! At last night's meeting of the Borough Council the Works Committee were authorised to bring down as soon as possible a scheme for the filtration of the water supply. As soon as the report is ready, a special meeting of the Council will be held to deal with the matter. The Borough Council have decided that they are prepared to .pay one-third of the cost of widening Flint road, from Mountain road to the A. and P. Association's ground, provided the County Council and the A. and P. Association each contribute a similar amount. The Council are putting in hand directly the work of channelling and concrete kerbing some of the streets. It is rumored that Messrs. Young, Hobbs and Co., in the event of not being able to arrive at an arrangement with the Borough Council for a renewal of the lease of their present saleyards, contemplate the erection of yards on the property recently purchased bv them adjoining the Presbyterian Church. Mr. Cray, assistant manager of the Royal Assurance Company, was on a visit to Stratford to-day.
