FITZROY TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. The usual meeting of the Board was hold' in the Town Hall last night, and was attended by Messrs. \V. Cutfield, W. He:ilv. T. Jackson. W. Griffiths ana L. Steele. THE XEW CHAIRMAN. The clerk (Mr. C. F. Foote) said he had received Mr. Strele's resignation as chairman during the week, and it would be necessary to elect a new chairman. Mr. Healy proposed that Mr. Jackson be appointed, but the motion did not find a seconder. Mr. Steele proposed Mr. Cutfield, who, he said, as an ex-chairman and actincr-1 chairman, was the proper person to fill the position. Mr. Griffiths seconded, srnd Mr. Cutfield was appointed. He briefly thankeci the Hoard for his election, stating that he would do his best to carry out the

duties satisfactorily. AX APPRECIATION. "Sir. Cutficld said that before going on with the business he would like to put on record the services rendered by Mr. Steele as chairman. At the request of Mr. Healey for a statement, (if receipts and expenditure every month in connection with the Hall, it was explained that Mr. Griffiths did the caretaking work gratuitously.
