AMUSEMENTS.

THE HASSAN COMPANY. The Hassan Company played to an appreciative audience in the Theatre Royal last night. Hassan has all the deftness of tile Hindoo race, to whose magicians the mysteries legerdemain have been as an open book for five thousand years. His feats are remarkable for their adeptness. One of the commonest tricks of the Hindoo magician is the growing of a mango seed. Hassan varies the performance by apparently growing a beautiful shrub from a flower pot. He runs the whole gamut of tricks known to most magicians and many that are quite new. The levitation bv means of the eyelids of a weight of 62Ibs appears incredible. Hassan completely captured his audience. 'Mr. Herbert Anderson was much appluaded for his rendering of the "Aeroplane Song," written and composed by the company's accompanist, Mr, Tunnicliffe. The evergreen Keilderson is a quickchange artist of some Speciality and with the help of a hat, a few other properties and his expressive face, is a fun-maker of large dimensions. He used to call it "chapeaugraphv," and it is still a good feature. His facial mimicry is excellent. The bioscope pictures are good and the new film showing in detail Wirth's big circus is of special interest. Altogether the show is novel and interesting and should draw well to-night.
