HOMING.
EAST END CLUB. The East End Flying Club held a race from Auckland during the weekend. Forty-three birds, representing eight lofts, competed in the fixture, which was one of the most interesting held under the auspices of the club. The weather was favorable and enabled the birds to register fast times. W. Bransgrove's "Unita" was first in 3rd. 43min. F. James' and 11. G. Moverley's Royal Salute were dead Ifeat for second place by five seconds behind the winner, and F. Lovell's Rub It In was third in 3hr. 43min. 25sec. The next race will be Hown from Palmerston North on Thursday. Hamper, Tuesday night. The New Plymouth Homing Pigeon Club held a successful race from Auckland on Saturday. The weather was favorable, and the winners established records for the distance. Forty-five birds competed, with the following result: —J. Sparkes' Violet, 3hr. lOmin., velocity lG62yds. Oft. lin.. 1; J/'Stagpoole's Lieutenant, 3hr. velocity 1660 yds. Oft. Sin., 2; V. H. Beals' Expedition, 3hr. 19%min., velocity 1058 yds. 2ft. 10in., 3. The next race 'will be flown from Christchurch.
