CAPT. SCOTT'S EXPEDITION

COMMONWEALTH CONTRIBUTION OF £2500. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. In forwarding the Commonwealth contribution of £2500 to the Antarctic expedition, Mr. W. M. Hughes, ActingPrime Minister, has sent the following telegram to Captain Scott:—"Ministers join with me in wishing t you, Capt. Evans, and officers and men of expedition all good luck, success and a safe return." Captain Scott replied as follows: "All members of the expedition join with me in thanking you for your kind and generous telegram of sympathy of yourself and Ministers. It affords us the greatest encouragement in our work."
