CLUB CHARTER CANCELLED

A MARK OF DISPLEASURE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Saturday Night. It is understood that, consequent on the result of the recent enquiry into the conduct and management of the Sydenham Working Men's Club, and after due consideration by Ministers of the statements made on behalf of the club in rebuttal of the finding of the Commissioner, the Cabinet has been unable to see its way to reverse the decision it previously arrived at to cancel the club's charter. The club has received information to that effect, and also that the cancellation of the club's charter will take effect as from December 17 next.
