PROJECTED ROYAL TOUR

THE TIMES DISCUSSES THE MATTER Uy Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright. Received 13, 5.5 p.m. London, November 12. Commenting on the expectations raised, and the hint given by the Duke of Conniiught at the inauguration of the South African Parliament, that the King might tour the Empire, the Times differentiates between visits paid as the Prince of Wales and as Sovereign. It suggests that their Majesties might hold court at the capitals of the dominions, but not in States or in the provinces. Extensive tours, or an attempt at semblance of a Royal progress, would be inadvisable. In the case of the Commonwealth, the Times says that inasmuch as the projected Federal capital would be unsuitable for the holding of a Court, doubtless it would be necessary to hold one at Sydney and Melbourne.
