The Council, after an all-night sitting and with the assistance of the guillotine, passed the Bible-in-State Schools Bill through committee. N.S.W. ASSEMBLY. Received 12, 12.15 a.m. Sydney, November 11. The Premier states that it is expected that the coming session will last for five weeks. Little legislation apart from financial questions will be dealt with. FEDERAL PARLIAMENT. Melbourne, November 11. In the House of Representatives the Federal Territorial Bill was read a second time without division and passed the remaining stages. In the Senate, Mr. Findlay, in reply to a question, stated that the Government was pressing upon the Canadian Government the necessity of the Vancouver mail steamers calling at Brisbane. The Postage Bill, fixpg a penny rate throughout the Commonwealth, passed the remaining stiiges.
FEDERAL TERRITORY BILL. Received 11, 9.30 p.m. Melbourne, November 11. In the Senate, the Federal Territory Bill passed all its stages, the Oppositionists protesting feebly. ANTI-TRUST LEGISLATION. Received 11, 9.30 p.m. Melbourne, November 11. In the House of Representatives, Mr. Hughes moved the second reading of the Anti-Trust Act Amendment Bill, designed to remove the necessity of proving intent to restrain trades.
