OAKUIIA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Tliere has not been much excitement in our small township lately. The meeting of the factory suppliers was the last interesting event we had. Mace, with 103 points; C. Mace made 192. T. C'orkiil 186. W. West ISS, F. Aroa 183. R. Corkill 109, J. Gyde 1(18. W. Mace 101. We are to have a parade and inspection next Wednesday, when, I hope, all hands will turn up. Our local blacksmith has sold out, and is leaving us about the end of the month. This will be a big loss to i Oakura. j Mr. F. Aroa had the misfortune to I lose a valuable horse the other dav. Tie was riding the horse at a quiet i walk along the level road, when it! tripped and broke its hind leg above the j hock joint, and had to be shot. This | is the second horse Mr. Aroa has lost in . a few weeks.
