WANGANUI GARRISON BAND
A JX'KLAXD',3 WE I X'OME. By I'elegraph.—Press AsMX'iaiio:i. Auckland. Last Night. The Wanganui Garrison Band was tendered an official reception hv the Mayor (Mr. Bagnall) in the Albert Park this afternoon. The visitors were escorted to the Park by the Auckland Garrison Brad, and by the time they arrived a crowd of several thousand had assembled to bid them welcome. The Mayor said the presence of such a largo croud showed that the citizens were anxious to shower their congratulations upon the band on having achieved such a series of successes. (Applause.) It was a matter of great gratification to all in the Dominion that a band from Wanganui should hive gone to Australia and returned with the championship. (Applause.) Mr. A. R. Wade, the conductor, returned thanks, saving that the band's reception in Auckland had altogether exceeded its expectation*. Mr. das. T. Muir. manager of the band, also returned thanks. The band then plaved a numh.T of selections from its ro-nertoire.
