TARIFF WAR IMMINENT
GERMANY AND AMERICA. By Cable—Press Association.—Copyright. Received 7, 9.35 p.m. Berlin, November 7. In connection with potash contracts, as cabled on October 27, the American delegates have submitted a proposal to the German syndicate whereby the loss due to super-continjent tax would be halved between the American and German interests, the Americans thus penalising themselves voluntarily to the extent of 14,000,000 dollars. The president of the syndicate rejected the proposal. The delegates are returning to Washington. (Reprisals are probable.)
