CRIPPEN'S APPEAL FAILS

A PROMPT DECISION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 7, 0.35 a.m. London, November 6. Crippen, in appealing against his sentence, contended that the Crown had not established the identity of the corpse found in the cellar and alleged to be that of his wife. He also contended that the Crown's rebutting evidence was wrongly admitted. Mr. Tobin, K.C., explained that the return of his brief was a mistake through a misunderstanding. After counsel had spoken for four and a-half hours, the appeal was dismissed in ten minutes.
