NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION. liy Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night. The Marlborough Union forwarded" a resolution expressing the opinion that the time had arrived when the Buller, West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough Unions should have a representative as one of the selectors of the South Islarir. team.—Referred to the incoming committee. Regarding the match between Auckland and Hawke's Bay last year, the former union wrote statin? that the match had never been considered by it as other than an ordinary challenge match for jthe Ranfurly Shield. Held over for consideration, pending receipt . of a reply from Hawke's Bay.
T. A. Grace wrote, with reference to the proposed tour. next season of old scholars of Te Aute College in New' South Wales. He suggested that the team should consist of about twenty two players, and the tour would extern over four weeks. If there was any profit from the tour it would be given to the Te Aute College Association for charity in aid of the Hiikarere Maori Girls' School recently destroyed by fire. —lt was decided that the Union could not approve of the proposed tour at this juncture, considering the time inopportune.
