DISTRICT NEWS.
| MIDHIRST. 1 (From Our Own Correspondent.) [ The weather here has changed for the better, but the last few days of rain that [ we have had has made the grass grow , quickly. Farmers around here now are turning, their attention to the cultivation of mangels in place of turnip crops, and a good many of them are growing maize. Denbigh School are having their school concert on November 17. A good programme has been arranged, and we are confidently looking forward to what I believe will prove to be the most successful concert we have ever held on the road. The north riding of the Stratford County Council lost its horse the other day through it falling over a bank. It backed suddenly and the cart with its heavy load dragged him over.
