PETROLEUM NEWS.
At last night's meeting of the directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Co., 530 of the new preference shares were allotted. There is no diminution of the flow of oil at No. 2 bor'e. No. 5 bore will be ready for the commencement of drilling early in the coming week. There were 230 visitors to the worka at Moturoa during the month. The big boiler which was in use at the old Egmont Flour Mills in Courtenay street haa been conveyed to No. 3 bore, where Mr. Keith proposes to treat the gas for fuel purposes in the same manner as at No. 2 bore.
