UNLICENSED BOOKMAKERS
WHOLESALE PROSECUTION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. No fewer than forty Charges against unlicensed bookmakers of trespassing on the Riccarton racecourse during the Grand National Meeting were dealt with at the Magistrate's Court to-day. All the persons charged pleaded guilty. Some were convicted, and ordered to pay costs. Others were fined varying amounts.
