A FRENCH CONSPIRACY

In connection with the conspiracy cabled on the Kith, the newspapers give details of the alleged plot to overthrow the Ministry and place M. Jaures. the Socialist leader, at the head-of a provisional Government. A Paris message on the 16th ult. stiwed:—The Minister of the Interior liiw discovered a case of sabotage, or a peasant conspiracy, at Paris, including Ihe destruction of lines, bridges, and river locks. The military occupation of sorted points prevented an outrage. The Government has threatened heavy penalties when the organisers of the conspiracy are discovered.
