The editors of the newspapers Novoe Vremya and Russ Koeznamya are being charged with high treason for reproducing particulars of the coastal fortifications from German sources. BIG MINING STRIKE. Received 1, 10.40 p.m. London, November 1. Thirty thousand men will come out on strike in connection with the South Wales mining trouble. NEW ZEALAND'S FORCES. Received 1, 11.25 p.m. Ottawa, November 1. Major-General Godley, Commandant of the Jvcw Zealand Defence Forces, who is en route to New Zealand, interviewed at Winnipeg, said ii was hoped to have 40.000 troops in New Zealand in training in 1911.

Prairie fires at Yorkton, Quapelle, and Indianhcad caused enormous damage to grain and live stock.
