STRATFORD DAY BY DAY

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. The Hine charges were responsible for the departure by thy morning's mail train of Messrs. W. D. Anderson, J. McCluggage and A. E. Copping for Wellington to give evidence. A man named W. Anderson, in the employ of Messrs. McCluggage Bros. at Whangamomona, was found dead in bed this morning. An inquest is to be held. During self-denial week the Salvation Army collected £O6 10s in Stratford. A meeting of the general committee of the A. and P. Association was held on Saturday, when a considerable amount of business in connection with the forthcoming show was transacted. A strong gale blew last night, and as the wind went down this morning the rain came on and fell heavily.

Local builders are extremely busy at present, and all have plenty of work in hand.

A number of Stratford residents are leaving to-morrow to attend the Manawatu Show.
