AEROPLANING.
AXOTHER FATALITY. By Cable—Presa Association.—Copyright Rome, October 27. Lieutenant Saglietti, while aeroplaning, fell, and was killed. AIRSHIPS BLOWN AWAY. BIPLANES POWERLESS IX A GALE. Received 28, 9.40 p.m. New York, October 28. A gale was blowing to-dav at Belmont Park, when the International Aviation Meet was continued. Hoxsey and Johnston, two Americans, ascended, but were blown away. Hoxsey landed twenty-miles distant, but Johnston travelled fifty-five miles before being able to descend. The biplanes were powerless to make headway against the gate-Gordon-Bennett is eliminating the event. The trial for the selection of an American team to defend the international trophy won at Rheims by Glea Curtis is postponed.
A MYSTERIOUS VISITOR. UNKNOWN AIRSHIP GOING THE ROUNDS. Received 28, 9.40 p.m. New York, October 28. An airship showing red and green lights was seen in a swift current at Saskatchewan. It was also seen at Irvine and Alberta. It is mysterious, as no such vessel is known to have started r Canada or the United States. THE LEBAUDY AIRSHIP. Received 29, 12.25 a.m. London, October 25. Major Hannerman had piloted the Lebaudy airship from France to Aldershot. He had a splendid voyage, but when Bearing Aldershot had to fight in the teeth of a wind blowing at a velocity of 25 miles an hour. The accident to the airship was due to the roof of the shed being too low.
