STRATFORD DAY BY DAY
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. Stratford residents have no cause to be afraid of the quality of their milk, as the district inspector has reported that samples of milk taken from the local milk vendors were all above the required standard.
(Mr. Climie's report on the purification of the water supply will be considered at the next meeting of the Borough Council. Of late the water has been abominable. Whether the dry spell 01 weather is the reason, one cannot say, and any scheme which will enable residents to have a supply which can be drunk without being looked upon as a nauseating draught will be welcomed. The Rev. C. H. Laws, president of the Methodist Conference, is beirn* entertained at a conversazione here this evening. Advantage will be taken of the opportunity to present the visitor with ail illuminated address of welcome. The fancy dress ball held under the auspices of the Druids Lodge last night was largely attended, and proved a great success.
The skating mania has taken possession of many Stratford residents. Falls, bruises and humps fio not deter them from taking advantage of every opportunity. One lady devotee admitted that she would miss her tea any time to go skating.
