ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association." Wellington, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Veterans' Association, Colonel Newall presiding, considerable correspondence was read regarding the petition recently presented to the Government in j support of the application for a military ] pension of 10s per week for all Maori war veterans, in lieu of the old age pension. The delegates were dissatisfied that the petition had not been presented to the House. It was decided that owing to the veterans not being armed or uniformed they would in future parade as a guard of honor. It was also decided that it was not the wish of the delegates to extend the time (1870) to enable certain applicants to get the New Zealand war medal.
