In the Assembly Mr. Jackson asked the Attorney-General if he intended to legislate against Stock Exchange gambling. The Attorney-General asked for practical suggestions. THE CONSTITUTION BILL. Received 27, 9.20 p.m. •Melbourne, Otcober 27. In the House of Representatives the Bill for the alteration of the Constitution was further considered.

Mr. Hughes moved a clause empowering the Commonwealth to control wages and conditions of labor, including tIV railways. He said it was not contended that one authority was sufficient to fix the industrial conditions of Australia, but he claimed there should be one court to review the whole of the industrial matters. He had no desire to do away with Wages Boards.
