LAND TAX PROPOSALS
"A FATAL BLOW." By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, October 26. The Senate passed the second reading of the Land Tax Bill by sixteen to six. The House of Representatives passed the Northern Territory Bill through committee. The committee of business men which tried to secure the modification of the land tax has abandoned further efforts and express the opinion that the tax is the most fatal blow ever given to Australian credit in London.
