•P" 1 "OPEN ACT OF CONFISCATION." By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night The executive of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union to-dav decided as regards Mr. E. H. Taylort Property Law Amendment Bill, to take no action, as they did not believe that such an open act of confiscation as that proposed in the Bill, would receive serious consideration from public men. Regarding Mr. McLaren's Bill to amend the Farm Laborers' Accommodation Act m the direction of providing that employers should keep Hccommodaticm in a clean and healthy condition, the executive decided that employees should be compelled to keep their sleeping quarters clean. ORGANISATION OF VOTERS. Christchurch, Last Night A report was submitted to-day at the meeting of the executive of tlie North Canterbury Farmers' Union, which stated that the organisation of voters irt other industries necessitated that farmers should organise for their own protection politically, independent of party since politicians largely f o r m their opin' ions to suit the largest organised section of voters. To carry out this organisation a fund should be established to be called the ''Farmers' Political protect.on Fund " and that a committee of jAe should be appointed by the executive to administer it, and arrange for carrying out the work of the organisation by appointing organisers and other ways. The report was adopted, and it was decided to refer it to all branches in the provincial district for earliest consideration and report to the executive
