STRATFORD DAY BY DAY
I (From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the Stratford Fire Brigade the following officers were re-elected: —Captain Grubb, Lieut. Rowson, First Foreman Wilson, Second Foreman Burgess, Secretary A. E. Burgess; committee, Firemen Evans, Boon and Walsh; auditors, Messrs. C. U. Solo and H. Burmester; custodian, Fireman W. Payton. Two medals for competition were presented by Lieut. Rowson. Subsequently the annual dinner was held. The following acting appointments foi the Stratford Mounted Rifles have been made: Sergeants A. A. Reid and R. D. Brown; corporals, W. J. Brown, W. S. Clarke, X. R. Sanson, P. Thompson, T. M. James; lance-corporals, C. F. Crawshaw, H. S. Anderson, A. J. Davey, C. R. Robinson, R. J. Woollaston, The railway authorities are apparently about to enforce the by-law against crossing the railway line in the station yard, as three summonses have been issued -against members of a biograph company for this offence. At the annual meeting of the Swimming Club the following officers were elected: President, Mr. D. J. Malone; vice-presidents, Messrs. E. B. Stohr, F. A. Tyrer, J. F. Watson, W. P. Kirkwood, H. P. Weber; committee, Dr. Carbery, Messrs, F. Marlow, S. Fahey, C. T. Perrin, A. J. Davey; captain, Mr. B. V. Kivell; vice-captain, Mr. E. Kivell; handicappers, Messrs. Kivell and Seabright; starter, Mr. E. B. Stohr; time J keeper, Mr. J. F. Watson; auditor, Mr. C' Potts; secretary, Mr. X. Black; assistant secretary, Mr. C. Potts. It was decided to open the season on Xovember 24.
