THE CONCILIATION COUNCIL. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. The Conciliation Council has sat for two days, dealing with the builders' and carpenters' dispute, and as yet has failed to settle the questions of wages, preference and apprentices. The Council will sit again to-morrow. The present award rate is Is 4d, and the Union asks Is Cd.
THE ANGLICAN MISSION. Timaru, Last Night. The Anglican Mission, under Canon Tupper-C'arey and Mr. «T. Harris has made a good start. Show to be held to-morrow and the next day. The Governor visits the show on the second day. The weather promises line. MAORIS TOUR THE WORLD. Auckland, Last Night. A Maori troupe of entertainers, 32 strong, left by the Maheno last night, under the guidance of Maggie Papa--kura. Their idea is to establish a Maori village in Sydney. From there they travel to the other towns of Australia, and, if circumstances warrant, proceed on to London and back home via Russia and China. BISHOP NELtGAN'S SUCCESSOR. Auckland, Last Night. The Anglican Synod, which resumed 1 this afternoon, was still sitting in camera at midnight, a ballot being in progress for the selection of a bishop in Dr. Neligan's place. The result of the ballot has not yet been announced.
