By Telegraph.-—Press Association, Wellington, Yesterfday, Following is the High Commissioner's cable under date London, October 22:-" Mutton.—The market is not qilite st> firm, and stocks of mutton on hand are light. There is less demand and no change in prices. | Lamb. —The stocks of lamb on liailft are light and firmly held in few* hands. Canterbury 5%d, other than ,'Canter-i bury 5%d. Beef. —The market is dull and supplies of River Plate chilled beef heavy. New Zealand 'hinds 3%d, fores 2%d. Butter.—The market is quiet, with a tendency in favor of buyers for secondclass quality. The supply exceeds the demand, and buyers of butter are holding back, expecting prices to go lower. Australian Ills, Danish 117s, 'Siberian 104s. Cheese. —The market is quiet, but holders are firm. Canadian 5Gs. Hemp. —The market is very quiet, and nothing doing. New Zealand good fair on spot per ton, £24 10s; New Zealand fair grade, £2l 10s; fair current Manila, £2l. Forward shipment New Zealand good fair, £24 10s; fair grade, £2l 10s; fair current Manila, £2O as. The output from Manila for the week was 28,000 bales.
