Count Montecuccoli, chief of the Aus-tro-Hungarian Naval Department, explained to the Naval Committee of the Hungarian Parliament that the offer of the Stabiliniento Teehnico yards to construct two battleships had been accepted, owing to the feverish activity of other Powers. He added that the Stabiliniento was relying on the country taking over the vessels when the delegations granted the fund. The Hungarian Premier replied that r Tun<rarv declined all responsibility for ilding the Dreadnoughts.
