ANNUAL REPORT. The following report is to be placed ■before shareholders at the first annual meeting of the Co-operative Transport and Agency Co., Ltd., to be held next week:—"ln presenting their first annual report and balance-sheet your directors j regret that the result of the operations of the company so far has fallen far I short of anticipations, but every effort lis being made to achieve the objects for which the company was formed. A new vehicle has been procured, being specially built for the requirements of tlie I mail service, which will be resumed on November 1 on the old time-table, ami it is trusted that the result will be sufficiently satisfactory to warrant the expenditure and to give confidence in the service. You will require to elect two directors m place of Messrs O'Rorkc am! Morrow, who retire by rotation, and are eligible for re-election." The balance-sheet shows the expenditure to have been £2228 10 <kl, wages accounting for £6lB 3s lid, running expenses and repairs £5lB 18s Od, depreciation on cars (10 per cent) £340 secre-tary-ii salary, etc., £Ws 8 s !M, tolls ,Uil» •10s 3d, and interest £74 Mfe fid. FreHit receipts and fares ammuited to £Um 10s, leaving a debit balance of £1122 Os 6d.
