A WORKING MEN'S CLUB

A " WEAK-KNEED ACTION." By Telegraph.—Press Associativa. Christehiirch, Last Night. The Christehiirch Prohibition League to-night resolved to protest against the weak-kneed action of the Minister of Internal Affairs in agreeing to receive a deputation from the Sydenham Working Men's Club, in view of the fact that the case had been investigated by a magistrate, before, whom the Club was given every opportunity to defend itself. The League also deplores the fact that three members of Parliament should propose to use their political influence to bolster up an attempt to interfere with the course of justice.
