A GANG OF SMUGGLERS

A MARQUIS AS LEADER. By Cable.— Prp«s Association.—Copyright Received 20, 10 p.m. London, October 20. The Chronicle's Milan correspondent reports that the Marquis Gins Capponi, a member of a famous Florentine family, was arrested at Valese. It is stated that, the Marquis has for a long time been the leader of a powerful gang of smugglers, who scaled a twelvefeet metal fence on the Italo-Swiss-Aus-trian frontier, smuggling lace, saccharine and watches. One of Capponi's gangs, who were captured, had in their possession three million cigars.
