Percy Code (Melbourne) was first with 84 points; Buckley (Wanganui), 82, second; Phelong (Sydney), 78, third; •James McGrath (Wanganui), 75, fourth. The judge said the playing was quite a treat. The New Zealanders were at' a disadvantage in drawing last place and having to wait about for five hours. Trombone competition—Walling (Wanganui) first, Shackles (Ballarat) second, Thomas ' (Victoria) third. The winner had a three points Igad. Quartettes Echuca first, Northeys (Wanganui) second, Collingwood third, Buckley (Wanganui) fourth. Wanganui was unplaced in the trombone trio and bass solo.
