HOME RULE QUESTION.

MR. REDMOND'S' POSITION. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. London, October 17. Newspapers having repeated Mr. Redmond's statement in America in favor of devolution, Mr. Redmond cables to the United Irish League his entire repudiation of the sentiments attributed to him.

Mr. O'Brien states that the suggestion that Mr. Redmond is in favor of devolution, is an invention which will not deceive, anybody and is dispelled by the fact that Mr. O'Connor made an almost identical declaration in Canada on the same day. '■% \' ; >|.; '<WM% "NOT UNDERSTOOD." A CHANGE OF FRONT. Received 10, 0.45 a.m. London, October 18. The newspapers are reprinting Mr. Redmond's article in McClure's Magazine for October, and declare it affords proof of his change to devolution. The Morning Leader says that Mr. Redmond's repudiation may be much misunderstood. "We recently witnessed an astonishing movement when the Unionist press favored Home Rule along Imperial roads. Mr. O'Brien's Gadfly rhetoric goaded Mr. Redmond into a denial which must destroy a very promising movement."
