This new firm of entrepencurs will open at the Theatre Royal for two night, Thursday and Friday, October 20 and 21, the first niglit with the new Clyde Fitch play, '"Lovers' Lane." Two of the management have good roles in Hie production. Charles Thursday, Harry Neville. Paul Latham, and S. A. Fitzgerald, and among the ladies Misses Alice Deorwvn, Beatrice Usher, Marie le Croisette, Tempo and Valentine Sidney. The box plan will be at Collier's. | " DOROTHY." The New Plymouth Operatic Society will commence their Dorothy season oil November 3 and 4 at the Theatre Royal. Miss Olive Buckman, as Dorothy, has a character to represent which should suit her exactly, and bearing in mind the artistry of Miss Buekman the name part should have an excellent portrayal. ■ To Miss Dulcet Fenton is entrusted the part of Lvdia Hawthorne, Dorothy's cousin, in which character Miss Fenton makes a great hit. The parts of Geoffrey Wilder and Harry Sherwood are in the hands of Messrs. ,J. H. Rowe (Inglewood) and Ernest Clarke, and a good result should follow. The comedy pari; of the opera is provided by Lurcher (sheriff's officer) and •' Mrs. Privett (Squire Bantam's housekeeper). These two parts are in the capable hands of Mr. F. J. Easther and Miss Loris Fitzlierbert, and as both have a highly developed sense of humor success is assured. The other parts of the opera are in the hands of Miss Mabel Clarke aa Phyllis Tuppett (inn-keeper's daughter), Mrs. T. R. Southall as Lady Betty, Mr. Leon Mclsaae as Squire Bantam (of Chanticleer Hall), Mr. T. R. Southall as John Tuppett (inn-keeper), and Mr. Bert McEwau as Tom Strutt. _ The caste' is a strong one, and contains tl»e best musical and histronic talent of New Plymouth. The opera "will be layishiy dressed, and sC&iiery, Vvliicli W !>s<& painted by Mr. Will Diamond, will be as fine as any hitherto seen in New Plymouth. The box plans open at Collier's Music Warehouse on October 27.
